Anticipation March 25, 2011

I awake in anticipation of what’s to come this weekend. It’s our third annual fondue party. My very close girlfriends from college are getting together Saturday night. Each person is assigned to bring a different item to use for fondue. We will have a lavish feast. My belly is growling just thinking about the food. My bag is almost packed. I can’t wait to see them, especially my best friend.  The last time we got together was in November for a girl’s cabin weekend. It’s so nice to get together without the kids and just laugh and be yourself!

Just the six of us

Eating, Laughing, Reminiscing

No worries for the night

Eating, Laughing, Reminiscing

Until our bellies are full

Living, Loving, Laughing

No worries for the night

Living, Loving, Laughing

Because we live for each other

Cherishing, Enjoying, Being

With one another

It’s wonderful you are making sure you keep in touch. What a fun, fun time to be with friends! And fondue-I say yum, too!

It’s wonderful you are making sure you keep in touch. I like the fact that you wrote a poem to show how much your friends mean to you.

Fondue is a memory in itself. I had not thought of it as a uniting force though. Your enduring connection to your friends is admirable. Anticipation is a powerful force at times. The excitement that can overwhelm us on occasions. Channeling your anticipation into poetic words was most impressive.
